Mixed skids are most often bought by online merchants who load the individual titles into eBay stores, Amazon stores and venues such as AbeBooks. We sometimes have manifests of what is in a mixed skid, but usually do not. Contact us for further information at custserv@anvilpub.com or 770-938-0289.
Select only the books you want want from our spreadsheets listing titles We have access to thousands of bargain books from many different vendors, and can help retailers make selections. Most books are pristine; a few are lightly hurt returns. These titles can be purchased individually from our spreadsheet lists. Just specify the publisher or the class of books in which you are interested, and we'll send you a list. The books come in a number of different lots, and trying to make selections from a list of 15,000 titles can be overwhelming. That's why we ask that you specify a publisher, or a class of books such as biography, graphic novels or juvenile fiction. You can select from hardcovers and trade paperbacks, nonfiction and technical, graphic novels, literature or whatever else sells best for you. Publishers include AK Press, Harper & Row, S&S, Grand Central, Harcourt, Columbia, MIT, Yale University, Ballentine, FSG, Berkeley, Cornell, Grove Press, Hill & Wang, Canongate, Feminist Press, Dalkey Archive, New Press, Seven Stories, Dark Horse, Black Dog, Oxford, Cambridge, Verso - to name just a few. Prices usually range from 10% of SRP (90% discount) to 60% of SRP. The number of copies of each title available may range from 1 or 2 (uncommon) on up to several thousand (more common). The minimum order if you're selecting individual titles from a list is $100 exclusive of freight. The minimum must be met by books fulfilled from your order. Email custserv@anvilpub.com or call 770-938-0289 if interested. TERMS

Mixed paperback graphic novel/manga skids
These mixed vendor remainder pallets
are usually priced at $2,600 per skid on orders of one to four skids, or $2,300 per skid
on orders for five or more skids. Shipping is in addition. The mixed publishers’
titles are completely random. The titles are hurts and returns that may have
some cosmetic blemishes but are still in sellable condition. No titles have torn
covers or ripped pages. There are approximately 1,700 pieces per skid with
bar-code SRPs ranging from $7.99 to $99.99 each. If you assume an average SRP of
$13 per piece, the skids have a retail value of around $22,100.
The pristine remainders/hurts on these skids might come from any of the following publishers: Comic book skids from UK Below are samples drawn from 40 or skids now located in the UK. There are around 9,000 comics per skid, although some will have more. The skids can be had for £1,100 per skid, which, depending on the exchange rate, will run around US$1,600. Your cost will be around 17¢ per comic, depending on the exchange rate and number of comics on the skid. Shipping cost for the last skid we imported - to a city in Pennsylvania near the New York port of entry - was $614, or around 7¢ per comic. Shipping from the UK takes around two-three weeks. If you are lucky and get one of the better skids, most of the comics will be designed to retail for $1.50 to $2.99 each, but a few will be thicker, and bar-coded to sell in the $13 to $17 range. Following are some samples of the higher-end material you might find on a skid. These will be pretty clean, fairly recent, from U.S. publishers such as Dark Horse, DC, Marvel and Warner and UK publishers lesser known on this side of the Atlantic. Below are some representative samples of the low-end material you might find on a skid. Not all of it will be bad. Some of it will in fact be quite good. But some of the material will likely be lightly handled or even hurt (wrinkled, occasionally worse), and some will be from little-known publishers such as Apple, Continuity, Image and Hamilton. A few might still be cello-wrapped or plastic-bagged in groups of two to four and stickered by retailers such as Wal-Mart. You might occasionally get 600 or so copies of the same comic book. A good many of the comics will date to the 1990s, and carry bar code prices of $1 to $2.50. You might get some copies you'd be lucky to sell for 25¢. Some might even be unmarketable and have to be thrown away. They might come to you in the same junky boxes that a retailer used to return the comics to the original vendor. But you ought to be able to sell most of the stuff at enough of a markup to take in more than the skid cost you. No guarantees. This is pot-luck, pick-of-the-draw stuff, and it takes a while to get here from across the pond. No returns, naturally, if you don't like what you get. But that's why the prices are low - a lot lower than the comics that we list above from Diamond.
